Opportunity to launch a joint Brazilian-Hungarian RDI call for proposals
On 1 June 2022, the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDIO) and the Brazilian Industrial Research and Development Agency (EMBRAPII) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to intensify their cooperation in the field of research, development and innovation, creating the opportunity to launch a joint Brazilian-Hungarian RDI project funding call.

Another HUF 4 billion to support young researchers
Around 2,000 winners are eligible for grants worth a total of nearly HUF 4 billion under the 2022 calls of the New National Excellence Programme (NNEP). In the first six years of the programme, which has been running since 2016, more than 10,000 university students and young researchers have already received HUF 22 billion in support for a successful start to their careers, announced József Bódis, state secretary for higher education, innovation and vocational training of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology (ITM).

Frontline programme is back: this year the best researchers can apply for HUF 3 billion
The “Frontline” – Excellence Programme will be open again this year, and researchers at the forefront of the scientific world can apply for the HUF 3 billion budget provided from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund until 28 April 2022 – Tamás Schanda announced. The Deputy Minister of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology (ITM) added that the winning applicants will be able to pursue competitive discovery research in Hungary with a total of up to HUF 350 million in state funding over five years.

Fast Track programme reopens with a HUF 8 billion budget
Last year’s call for proposals that encouraged the production of new products and processes with high added value from the knowledge and intellectual property of Hungarian universities and businesses is now available again, announced Tamás Schanda. The Deputy Minister of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology (ITM) added that the second round of the Fast Track programme, which was successfully launched last year, will encourage the practical application of Hungarian ideas with a budget of more than two and a half times the amount of the previous year.
