The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) presents its compliments to the Permanent and Observer Missions to UN-Habitat in Nairobi and to the United Nations in New York and has the honour to share the call for applications for the 2019 Dubai International Best Practices Award for Sustainable Development.

The 2019 Dubai International Best Practices Award for Sustainable Development aims to reward projects implemented within the following five categories:

  1. Urban Regeneration and Public Spaces
  2. Construction of Sustainable, Innovative and Smart Buildings
  3. Sustaining Urban Food Systems
  4. Addressing Climate Change and Reducing Pollution
  5. Urban Infrastructure Planning and Management

The Award is open to national and regional governments, local authorities and their associations, non-governmental organizations, multilateral agencies, community-based organizations, research and academic institutions, public and private foundations, media entities and individuals.

The winner of each of the category will receive a cash prize of USD 200,000 which will be awarded in November at the EXPO 2020 Dubai.

The submission of projects should be done on the Dubai Award website on the following link: http://dubaiaward.ae/.
