As a winning proposal of the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument Phase 2, the Aeroglass project of the Hungarian EU Edge Ltd. develops a smart glass application, which displays key information necessary for pilots during their flight, in real-time and in 3D, without hampering the pilot’s visibility. Around two thirds of aviation accidents are caused by pilot errors, as they have to translate 2D information from the control panel into a 3D environment. With the help of the head-mounted display pilots will be able to make faster and better decisions.

Its development has been speeded up when the Aeroglass project was selected by Airbus BizLab, the innovation accelerators of Airbus in 2011. An investment round in early 2016 supplemented the grant received in 2014 and helped to attract new talents to the project.
