The knowledge-intensive, innovative undertakings are motivated by several, interconnected funding schemes to implement the in-house development of new, marketable products, services and technologies constituting significant intellectual added value. The EU financed “Support to the R+D+I activities of undertakings” (GINOP 2.1.1 – Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme, EDIOP) was published for the less developed regions, whereas the similar VEKOP (Competitive Central Hungary Operational Programme, CCHOP) call is targeting the Central Hungary region. The programmes are supplemented with Hungarian funds via the call of the NRDI Fund with similar objectives (VÁLLALATI KFI_16), which also targets the Central Hungarian applicants. 237 applications were received in total by the first submission deadline with the requested amount totalling HUF 60 billion (EUR 193.5 million). The total costs of the submitted application programmes exceed HUF 98 billion (EUR (316 million).
The Ministry for National Economy has just published the winners of the first round of the EU funded GINOP 2.1.1 call. The list is available on the website of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office, the entity responsible for policy-maikng. According to the list, companies outside the Central Hungary region can implement 247 corporate research and development programmes at a total costs of HUF 128 billion (EUR 413 million) with a total support over HUF 68 billion (EUR 219 million). The total available envelope of the mirror call published for the Central Hungarian region (CCHOP 2.1.1-15) is HUF 15 billion (EUR 48.5 million). The 217 applications received in the first round – with a funding request of HUF 45 billion (EUR 145 million) in total – are currently being evaluated.
